One of the Older churches Downtown
The Roberts Field airport is located here and offers direct flights to many major hubs all over the west. Just down the road from the airport are the county fairgrounds where big events and concerts are held regularly. Smith Rock State Park is only minutes away and is home to some of the most incredible sandstone rock formations in the region. Views of the Cascade Mountains are unobstructed from almost any vantage point and most homeowners have some vista from their property.
As is true of all the towns in Central Oregon, Redmond has not been sheltered from the growth here. New construction and expansion can been seen around every corner. However, this has resulted in more homes to choose from and a wider range of prices for the potential buyer. With the population growth has come new commerce as well and Redmond now has numerous national chain stores and retailers to meet the needs of its residents. None of this has affected the traditional charm of the town. The downtown area is still lined with shops and restaurants to tempt the casual window shopper. A new highway bypass is being constructed to reroute traffic away from the downtown area and keep it a fun place to spend the day.
With all the same amenities and less than half the population, its easy to see why so many people are making Redmond home.
