View of the Mountains from the Old Farm Neighborhood
As one could probably guess from the name of this area, this area used to be farm land. As real estate close to Bend became more popular and worth more money, many of the farmers sold their land to developers over the years. The area was gradually developed and most signs of the original farm land have been covered up. This area has a mix of homes, many of which where built in the 1980’s and 1990’s, and a recent surge in homes that started being built in 2000 and continue on today. The advantage the older houses have is in lot size. As real estate becomes more valuable, lot sizes are the first thing to shrink. Consequently, many of the older homes in this area are worth more then the newer homes
