Orchard District
Stover Park
The Orchard District for the most part hasn’t seen very much new construction. The majority of the homes in this area were built between 1940 and 1980. The advantage of this is the amount of mature trees in this area. Many parts of this area are characterized by lots with large beautiful trees.
This area is also home to three popular parks. Hollinshead Park is a gorgeous park with large trees and lots of shade that provides the feeling of seclusion. Many people have had their marriage ceremonies in this park. Pilot Butte State Park can be seen throughout Bend, and is popular with people walking or jogging their way to the top. From the top of Pilot Butte the views are incredible and one can see the entire city of Bend, all the Cascade Mountains, Pine Mountain to the East, and many of the buttes to the south. Juniper Park is a large park and is home to the Juniper Swim and Fitness Club with four swimming pools, a long line of horseshoe pits, four outdoor tennis courts, a youth baseball field with bleachers, a one mile soft fitness trail, playground, and picnic facilities.
