The Northpointe development in Boyd Acres
Boyd Acres is the northern most part of Bend and probably the most rapid growing area of Bend. Along with a lot of new housing developments, Boyd Acres has a lot of older and newer industrial and commercial space. With the amount of new homes in this area, a new elementary school is currently under construction to ease over-crowding. This part of town is also going to be the home of the much discussed Juniper Ridge. Juniper Ridge is planned to be a brand new mixed use area with homes, condos, commercial businesses, and light industrial mixed with a lot of open space and parks. There is also talk of building a new four year university in Juniper Ridge. Juniper Ridge is still in the planning phase so it appears to be a ways off. This area also has Bend’s original mall, the recently remodeled Bend River Mall, and Bend’s newest shopping center, Cascade Village Center. Cascade Village Center is home to a lot of small shops and restaurants, along with some big box stores such as Best Buy, Petsmart, Bed, Bath and Beyond, JC Penny’s, Joe’s Sporting Goods, and soon to be completed Trader Joe’s. Nearby the Cascade Village Center are Target, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Michaels, and Staples, making this a very popular area for shopping.
