Tubing in Bend, and Central Oregon
Sure it’s typically an activity for children, but who does like bombing down a snow covered hill on some sort of inflatable tube or plastic sled. During the winter kids will find all sorts of hills around town to sled down, but here I am talked about areas that have been created just for tubing. Both Mount Bachelor and Hoodoo Mountain have tubing areas complete with tow ropes to get you back to the top. Recently, the Wanoga Snow Park opened up an official tubing area. Unlike the two resorts, the snow park doesn’t have groomed tubing runs or a tow rope to get you back up, but on the plus side it is free. It is also a safe area to tube that is away from traffic and has a snow hill free of trees and rocks.
