Golf in Bend and Central Oregon
Central Oregon has become quite the golf destination. For a relatively small community there are 24 different public and private golf courses in the Central Oregon area. In addition to providing challenging courses, the many different courses all feature amazing scenery. The courses vary from being surrounded by ponderosa pine trees, to being in the high desert with juniper trees and rocky plateaus. Many of the courses also include river views, lava rock formations, and the ever present views of the Cascade Mountains.
The courses in Central Oregon have always attracted many different golf tournaments, but starting in 2008 the Jeld-Wen Tradition is moving their championship tournament to Crosswater Golf Club in Sunriver. The fifth major on the Champions Tour, the Jeld-Wen Tradition is one of Oregon’s most popular golf tournaments.
