Rock Climbing in Central Oregon
If you are into rock climbing, then you are probably already aware of Central Oregon’s status in the world of sport climbing. Smith Rock State Park north of Redmond is generally considered to be the birthplace of modern American sport climbing, and has been called the sport climbing Mecca for the Northwest US. Smith Rock has climbs for all level of climbers including some of the hardest routes in the . There are over 1,000 routes, most of which are bolted sport climbing routes, along with some aid routes, and many traditional climbs.
If you prefer to stick with indoor rock climbing gyms, or would like to practice without driving up to Smith Rock all the time, there is INCLIMB in Bend. INCLIMB is Bend’s only indoor rock gym and currently has 8000 square feet of climbing terrain. INCLIMB is located in the Old Mill area.
