Commute with Confidence is an opportunity to learn bike safetyCommute Options, a leading proponent of safe bicycling, announced they
will be offering an official League of American Bicyclists "Road I -
Commute with Confidence" bicycling course in Bend, Oregon. Commute
Options sponsors this 6 hour cycling road skills course, taught by
League of American Bicyclists certified instructors. Learn the tricks
that keep experienced cyclists safe on the road, develop handling
skills and on-road equipment maintenance basics.
A dramatic increase in cycling for transportation in Bend has driven
the demand for this kind of formal instruction. The League of American
Bicyclists has offered adult cycling classes nationwide for over 20
years, but League instructor Sami Fournier, who formerly directed the
League's national bicyclist education program, has just returned to
teaching cyclists tips and tricks for safe commuting and bicycling for
transportation.
"Cycling is an art and a challenge for many new and returning
cyclists. The City of Bend is growing, but it is still an ideal place
to use a bike to get around. With Commute Options helping people learn
the traffic safety tricks used by experienced cyclists, everyone can
enjoy more confidence cycling on the roadways. " said Fournier.
