Elkhorn Estates is a large neighborhood that was built in numerous different phases from about 1996 to 2000. This neighborhood is located off of Brookswood Blvd just a little ways south of the Old Mill district. At the time Elkhorn Estates was built, there wasn't very much along Brookswood Blvd and Elkhorn Estates was kind of secluded. Now Elkhorn is one of many neighborhoods located along Brookswood. The houses vary in size from small single-story homes to larger two-story homes. A few choice homes in Elkhorn Estates back to the canal and have excellent backyard views. Even though it is one of the oldest of the developments along Brookswood, most of the homes are well maintained. Pine Ridge Elementary school is a safe walking distance from anywhere in the neighborhood with no major roads needing to be crossed or walked along. Hwy 97 is located nearby just down Powers Road making it easy to get anywhere in the city relatively quickly.
